My company uses tenets and it can be very useful. It allows a team to set their
order of priorities and rules up front. This makes difficult decisions easier because there is an established guideline for what items are most valued and what trade offs are worth taking.
There is no flowery language or anything like that, just a short list of clear rules that the team will use in decision-making.
