I found that large groups were a drag on a cruise, there was never a place that
all could get together and just mix and mingle. We had a large group and we met every night for dinner, but the rest of the time the families pretty much divided up and did what they wanted to. There wasn't ever a "reunion" type of feel to it, it was just a nightly dinner that was somewhat rushed to get to the show or clear the table for the next seating. We never could just hang out all together.

On the other hand, a few of the adults didn't get along real well, so it was nice to be able to retire to your stateroom or do whatever you wanted without that constant tension.
