I can understand both, but honestly, I'm scared of not spending money now. Not
living now.
I'm afraid that if I'm frugal now, I'll retire, get sick or hurt, and then just be lame for my retirement years. Basically happened to my dad. Just watched it happen to a professional associate — retired and within about 5 years got diagnosed with something that will effectively prohibit him from doing most of what he wanted to while retired.
I figure I only have a few more healthy years to go. I'm going to party while I can. At least a little.

We make less than that with 3 kids and are still able to save 50% for retirement and we're very comfortable. And in
