You don't know the 17-18 year old me. My mom filled out my college applications
for me. I wouldn't have even started the process.
My parents were smart enough to see that I'd eventually grow out of my apathy. I needed the initial push. So my mom forced my hand to apply, and then they supported me financially at first. Once I started, it was good for the rest of the way. But if they wouldn't have started me I would have woken up the day after graduating HS and just gone to Long John Silvers like I always had. Gone skating at the gas station. Drank DP instead of meals. Etc...
