The recommendation is you test in the lowest occupied living space of your home,

a basement if you have one, but that doesn't mean no basement means no potential problem.  Depends on the amount of uranium in your soil that is decaying to radon.  Not sure where "here" is, but there are areas of the country with elevated levels of radon and no basements.  For more information,
