I am involved in that line of work. Trump definitely has cut our funding
pretty much yearly, but we were never on track to combat something like this.

Our efforts in pandemics were very closely tied to antivirals and vaccine distribution. That is good but there needs to be a shift in lab and testing and within those efforts, allow emergency guidelines to encompass labs that may not have specific certifications, more supplies for treatment of those infected....not just efforts for mitigation.

Even the red tape and laws that existed during H1N1 was broken in the process to disseminate mass vaccines.
