This sort of thing is our only chance. We can't make it until the vaccine comes
out. All the damage will already have been done (economically). We need a drug that already exists and one where the side effects are already known. We don't have time (year or two) to wait to see what the side effects of a certain drug are. This is the only answer to quickly move the tide in the right direction.

There are a ton of caveats on that drug for COVID but at least there MIGHT be something already available to combat it
