Any FDA approved medication may be prescribed by a doctor for any ailment a doctor feels in his/her medical judgment it may help. FDA has nothing they can do to stop that. They can only regulate the way it is marketed, not how it is prescribed in practice. Given the long history of safe use of these drugs (approved in the 50s!) there is zero reason not to prescribe them ASAP to anyone who wants them.
