listened to him; however, I have practiced those same principles for many years because I am a follower of the Prophet and other Church leaders who admonish us to get out of debt and stay out of debt, save for a time of need, gather adequate food storage, live in a house and drive a car you can afford, pay your tithing etc.

That fact that Dave Ramsey says some of these same things is great for those who don't have a Prophet to follow (even though he is the Prophet for all the world), so it's great he is teaching those principles, but, I don't follow those principles because of him.
