It's funny how hard people are clinging to some narrative, any narrative, that shows that this is not a serious illness. I understand questioning the severity of the methods used to combat the virus--I'm also worried how we're going to sustain this fight long enough to get a vaccine without entering a second Great Depression--but it has been clear since China's initial outbreak in Wuhan that this is a very dangerous illness due to its ease of spread and it's high severity rate among the infected.
Yet here we are months later, with thousands of people dying every day from coronavirus, and someone like Busiturtle is surprised we even noticed the virus in the first place.
