I think if it gives them peace and provides a sense of security for them, then..
more power to them.
I imagine there is nothing like feeling hopeless and powerless, when the future outlook seems so uncertain.
Taking things in your own hands, and tacking action, and making a choice to actively do what you can to protect yourself is very empowering in uncertain times. My two cents
