I've posted this scenario before. It's still the best option out there and it will create great parity and competitiveness in both football and basketball. The NCAA needs to wipe out all the existing FBS Division Football conferences and group teams in the following highly logical conferences:

I realize there are around 20 current FBS teams that didnt make the cut, mostly from the current C-USA, MAC and Sun Belt. In the interest of the sport, some teams must take the fall. Major teams left out are Virginia Tech and Stanford, because no one knows where a Hokie or the Cardinal would fit in.
