Too early to say really, given all the factors, such as age, severity of the
disease, other conditions, etc. From what I've seen the drug works very well in a matter of a couple of days, so I think even moderate side effects can be tolerated for that length of time, so long as they are not permanent. One of the drawbacks of (hydroxy)chloroquine from what I understand is the narrow therapeutic window, so you can only lower the dose by so much without losing the therapeutic effects as well. But it's a start. And given how these drugs were already approved for other diseases (i.e. malaria), I think the potential benefits far outweigh the risks so long as patients carefully follow a plan prescribed by a medical doctor.
