And I do believe there's more going on behind the scenes than the public realizes. I do think there should be the utmost transparency in a situation like this. When you are infringing on basic human rights (don't leave your house or else), the public has the right to know why. Not saying such an order is never justified, but if there was ever a need for the reasoning behind the decisions it's now. Simply showing death projections is not enough.

But I think what he's demanding is that we be prepared to adjust our response to the data. We should allow ourselves to consider that this may not be that bad. We should do that while allowing ourselves to consider that it may be as bad as we think. I find that message valuable, needed, and timely. There is a range of possible outcomes, and we should be willing to consider the uncertainty, and prepared to act as new evidence comes in. We shouldn't be making blanket statements and speaking in absolutes at this stage.
