It certainly does give perspective on where the poster is coming from. If I have my job and am secure

say a Computer Systems Engineer that works for the federal government, the chances of the economic collapse drastically affecting my economy is small, so I might be somewhat blinded to the plight of the people that have already had their economic world implode. It might make me apt to say that the economy isn't collapsing and everything is fine.
