Living in upstate NY for residency, my wife and I took a road trip to Niagra Falls with our 3 little kids. We didn't have a credit card at the time, but we did have a debit card. We walked around the falls for a while and the kids started to get hungry. We tried to buy them something, but we realized that neither of us could remember the PIN number for the card, and neither of us had any cash. We were about 4 hours from home. We had no idea what we were going to do, and as we were walking on the sidewalk on the Canadian side, I looked down and found a $10 bill lying on the sidewalk at my feet. We were able to feed the kids and enjoy the day. Small but real tender mercy.
