Here's what I had to do:
- I had to take Omeprazole every day in the morning and be sure to take it on an empty stomach.
- I went to an intermittent fasting diet - basically just to an 8-16 schedule, making sure I did not eat anything within 2 hours of going to bed.
- Never lay down after eating - keep your body vertical.

After a while, my esophagus healed and I only have to follow not eating before bed, but it took a while. I still have a little bit of trouble, but not too much. As far as we can tell, mine was the result of being intubated and then eating while laying down after surgery and further damaging my throat. I think it took 4 months to even begin to heal.
