As someone who spent 150 days of my life playing World of Warcraft, I think
video games are a great way to waste your life and ensure that your potential goes unrealized.
I wouldn't call it an irrational hatred. There are just better things to do with your time. Video games can ruin lives, marriages, careers, educations, etc. I'm not saying that there's no place for video games in a productive life, but people should be really careful about it.
