I respect this take.
Maybe my statement was just for me - in terms of Knowing that Laettner would occupy a seat and nothing else. Whereas Shaq would have fit in on the court.
I felt that way 100% at the time. (I can't recall any forethought's on Laettners career path - this was simply in terms of being able to play at that point in time - in the Olympics).
