Don’t seem to know how to run an effective 3-4. They’d drop the lbs into the same zones or areas 95% of the time and play them too far off the line. They’d seldom mix up coverage or blitzes with linebackers.
Now contrast that to bronco’s version of the 3-4 which uses a lot of disguise and blitzes from multiple linebackers. Bronco even runs a periodic secondary blitz. When Tuiaki Run/pass blitzed Dayan last year it almost always worked but for some reason they seldom used Dayan that way.
Since Tuiaki and Sitake seem to have more of a background in a 4-3 scheme, I’m glad to see they are moving back to that, although I’m skeptical they’ll be as agressive with it as they should be. It seems like Tuiaki must think BYU’s secondary is incapable of playing effective man coverage? To be fair I’m not sure we have the best corners even though they’ll build up the numbers. You can still drop your safeties over the top and be more active with your front7.
