that's true in the NBA regarding the importance of height but in college it's...
...not as pressing an issue. Most teams in the WCC avg around 6'5" in height with several at 6'4" and Gonzaga the tallest at 6'7". Go to major conferences and teams get a little taller. BYU avg'd 6'5" last season, teams like UCLA, Kansas, etc were in that same ballpark.
For BYU in the WCC if we're a little shorter defensively on the perimeter but tall and lanky protecting the rim that would be the ingredients for a halfway decent defense.
