seems a more natural fit for him. But his mobility & frenetic style of play make the 4 a very good option for him too at the D1 level. That's what Painter was toying w/ last season. It also lets him switch out more on defense to cover outside the key — in situational stuff he's very good at covering the perimeter, & it looks like Purdue wisely schemed for him to do that a lot. Gavin of course has that versatility too.
