This kind of thing, unfortunately, is not uncommon in academics. I worked on a
case early in my legal career at large midwestern University that involved a prominent member of the music faculty. The institution had already settled at least 3 cases against him at that time and he is still on staff. Every once in a while I look him up to see if he's been busted yet, but he is still there.
