I'm not as familiar with the Fords as I am with the Chevys. If it's a standard drive train with an upgraded suspension system, it'll tow better, but I'd still have reservations about pulling a heavier trailer and the stress it would put on the rear end.

Towing is about stopping ability and control. For me it would depend on how often I towed it and where.

I wouldn't. But I err on the side of too much truck. Are the numbers you quoting for your specific truck?

Those are for my specific truck- looked up the spec for the engine, transmission, gear ratio, etc.

This is a 2013 F150 with a 3.73 gear ratio. From the window sticker it also has the upgraded GVWR and max tow packages

As far as rear differential ratios, I think some of the new ratios have come about as a result

Ratios are just torque multipliers and you have to combine it with tranny ratio and tire size. I have 3.73 in my 2500HD
