Apple switching to ARM was a bad omen for Intel

The reason that Apple switched from PowerPC to Intel back in 2005/2006 was because IBM didn't do enough volume to be on the cutting edge of chip manufacturing technology and couldn't get their power consumption down, and it's somewhat ironic that now Intel has been passed by the 3rd-party foundries that have fine tuned their manufacturing capabilities by cranking out a bazillion ARM chips.
