I didn't say it was a factor in Intel's decision
15 years ago, Apple switched from PowerPC architecture to x86 because Intel could build higher-performance chips that used less power.

Now, Apple is switching away from Intel and x86 because they can get better performance chips that use less power by ARM chips themselves and outsourcing to a chip foundry.

I don't think Apple's switch had anything to do with Intel's decision, I just thought the similarities were interesting.
