Not so fast... What % of at-risk youth are athletes? In today's world, the cost
Of participation previous to high school has already ended the participation of most at-risk youth.
I think we are guilty of using at-risk students to bolster our claims to the benefits of athletic programs. Football is not a good path to a better life. High school athletes see far fewer athletic scholarships than academic and service scholarships.
