Crowton's sex scandal in 2004 wasn't even as bad as a very similar
event that happened in 1994 in which 7-8 recruits were simultaneously dismissed. It involved one experienced Sophomore player (Greg Steele), a very promising RB coming off a Frosh injury (Tony Hicks), & some other RS Frosh & fresh JC signees. (Luckily Tim McTyer hadn't made it to campus yet, cuz EVERY ONE of our non-member signees from the previous 2 years were involved).

The difference w the '94 sex scandal is that the case was more or less dismissed by the police — with the media making relatively little noise beyond a short summation of the event & individuals involved (most of whom were not known cuz they hadn't played a down yet). The details of what happened were NOT good at all, though. It was dismissed not on the grounds that something very indecorous didn't in fact happen — but whether or not the local victim (a drunk teenage girl) wasn't indeed complicit in being passed around the group as a play-thing.
