Which is why I discouraged my kids from playing. I am a chiropractor and see
many former football players - mostly just former HS players. I see a lot of guys suffering from that one tackle decades ago. Parents and kids should really balance their love for the game with the long-term orthopedic and neurological repercussions.

The other side of the ledger is that sports teaches so many lessons. I wrestled in HS and college. Taught me a lot about life and set me up well for the difficulties life throws at all of us.

Yeah they play for our entertainment, but they made and continue to make the decision to do so.
