When one group or person decides that they are "more spiritual" if they do something extra, which is not required. Over time, others feel guilty that they are also not acting as spiritual as the others who do the extra thing. Before long, it becomes the standard and it is easy to feel superior to and look down on those who do not do the same (not necessary) things.

Caffeine is the perfect example of this. A few decide that it is against the WOW, then others follow, then those who still drink caffeine are looked down on. Glad the church set this one straight...

Good for the other students who stopped standing. Sometimes we need to stand up for not just something good, but stand against something not necessary....
