I felt the same for many years. Then one day the light turned on. Meetings are
powerful things. They can also be misused. I think we should be careful not to blame "meetings" for the sins of people who misuse them.
Also, often the purpose of the meeting is to benefit someone else and your presence at the meeting is to add value, rather than to receive it. Resenting this can be an immature response.
