Great question!
A couple things:

Rather than playing the chord all at once with your left hand, you can play an arpeggio. An arpeggio is when you essentially play the main notes of the chord one after another, rather than all at once. For example, the C major chord. Your left hand could play C-E-G-C and back down while your right hand plays the chord every two or four notes.

While the full chord in the left might sound weird and an an octave might be too much bass, you could trying playing the fifth. So for a C chord, your left would only play C and G.

Experiment with both, especially the arpeggios as that’s how you can really start spicing up the music.

Good luck and report back on how it goes!
