95% of the time weight in back and snow tires will be more than enough. But that 5% will be frustrating...
if not for living up a hill I'd say you'd be fine 100% of the time with weight and snow tires. The times you will hit the frustration will be late at night when snow and ice has melted through the day and refrozen into an invisible ice sheet after sundown.
