I’ve had the experience of giving a widow her life insurance proceeds
It was for 10x her husbands salary when he bought the policy about 5 years prior.
We were both grateful he had bought the policy.
It was also very apparent it wasn’t enough to cover her expenses for her young family. Couples with kids should review their life policies regularly.
