Philosophically? no. Like the other schools, BYU is all about education.
Now, if you say "politically," then you might have a point. Then again, one might ask "wouldn't having a diverse number of opinions be best for any conference?"
Note: uu isn't a misfit in the PAC. They are just another school like AZ, OR or WSU. Plus, they are top 5 in football over the past couple years.
