That’s almost half the conference with a fundamental philosophical difference.
UW is right there with The California schools. And the U, CU, And others are leaning more to the Left all the time.

I’d like for it to work as well. But I just see too many issues coming up down the line if BYU gets into bed with the PAC-12. Between gay marriage, abortion, historical race relations, women and the Priesthood. These are issues that these West Coast schools are not going to just tolerate. Relying on them to fill out a schedule is heading for boycotts, arm bands, and a whole lot of bad publicity that BYU and the Church don’t want. Not to mention putting Football in jeopardy.
