My daughter lived there so I went for a week
She spent 8 months at Hebrew University in a fellowship. Israel had never been on my bucket list but I thought I would regret not going while she was there. To my surprise, my favorite trip of all time. She was my guide. We rented a car and try to pack in everything. There's so much you could spend a month there. The benefit of doing it without a guide is that you can go twice as fast. Tours are kind of slow and expensive. Of course, there are benefits of a tour but maybe read a self guided tour book before deciding.

In five days on the ground we did Caesaria, Megido (Armageddon), Galilee (spent a night there), Jordan River, Bethlehem, Garden Tomb, Masada and of course a lot of time in the old city Jerusalem. In preparation I read the book Oh Jerusalem about the founding of Israel, which made the experience richer.

The whole experienced enhanced my testimony of the Savior in ways I did not expect.
