I remember once in High School that I went with my cousin to hang out with some of his friends one night. They seemed like good enough kids and that nothing was too out of hand. Well after about an hour or so, one of them got a call from their other buddies who said that they found a dead body in Provo Canyon.

Of course High School kids would think it prudent to go investigate themselves as opposed to calling the police, so these kids went home, grabbed their guns, and stuffed them in the back seat of the car... Where I was sitting.

I felt SUPER uncomfortable the whole time, thinking that if any of these guns were not on safety and were loaded and/or we got into a car accident that they could go off and I'd have been blown away (there were some shotguns and stuff too). I didn't have any knowledge of weapons either, so I didn't know what to do.

I basically just said "Hey, drop me off at my house. You guys go ahead" and they did that. Turns out it wasn't a body and that their friends just wanted them to come hang out in the canyon with them...

Maybe I wasn't THAT close to dying, but it felt like it at the time! What's your story?
