I'm so tired of everyone claiming it's corruption and that it's all pointless/hopeless. Yeah, the CFP is geared towards P5 and against G5 (or G5 equivalent independents), but it's worthwhile to take an honest look at how they decide things.

It's not that a BYU team gets dropped as a non-P5 penalty, it's that they get dropped for a lack of quality wins. And this isn't a one-off against BYU. We've seen the same in the past where UCF or Marshall have been ranked substantially lower in CFP than elsewhere or via advanced metrics.

At this point, we can either bury our head in the sand and just keep bemoaning how unfair it is, or we can do everything possible to start getting some more quality wins. I'd rather we focus on what is keeping us out and try to remedy it, rather than just considering it an impossibility
