Good grief, seriously.
Your comment that "blackface is an offense to the black community" has merit as a matter of principle with general application and rightfully should be regarded . . . and it, and the latter half of your comment, contributes nothing of value to the situation, completely ignoring the fact that he came out and admitted it was a mistake and apologized. Forgiveness is an essential part of human growth and societal well being and yes, even positive and healthy race relations. He was an immature teenager and as an adult he is wiser and regretful. He should be praised, encouraged, and given redemption. Instead, you feel the irresistible urge to get on the podium and remind everyone how terrible his sins were, implying that his lot in life should therefore be irretrievably altered with unending punishment in the form of never being able to succeed in his chosen career path, no matter how much regret he feels and expresses, no matter what good he has done since the incident and no matter what potential he has for doing good in the future.
