Pugh was impersonating a celebrity as a gag. As a guy absorbed with football (obviously), Pugh's intention was much more likely to honor rather than slander the star player he was impersonating. Yes, it was in jest, but it was in no way mean-spirited from what I could see.

Historical blackface comedy was in every way, shape & form mean spirited, & had zero intention of honoring black people. Quite the contrary. It also generally mocked stock characters as representative of an entire race — it typically did not mock specific people, let alone a tabloid celebrity — like Pugh did. So please stop trying to blindly attach that historical "comedy" to Mr. Pugh. The media & gossip hawks behind this "leak" have done quite enough damage to the guy, I think. I'm sure they sit back in the shadows — quite satisfied w the nasty lil damage & uproar their leak has caused.
