I was paid to watch Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade seven times at this
theater before the World Premier. During a quick test run, it was discovered there was a problem with the sound track that had been laid down on the film. The studio claimed it was a problem with this theater's sound system. So I sat with a sound monitor in different locations in the auditorium to prove it was their issue (which it was). They had to scramble to fix the print and many others that were being shipped around the country (this was, of course, pre digital movies at theaters).

As the description says, the National Theater didn't look like much from the outside, but it was amazing on the inside. 70mm film instead of the normal 35mm (with an IMAX size screen as was common to 70mm theaters, but not IMAX). Beautiful gold carpet, chandeliers in the lobby and brass railings etc.
