My dad made some poor decisions and started to let it go, especially while I was on my mission. He and my step mom got divorced while I was gone which accelerated it. I got back and ran it for a couple of years supposedly to help get it ready to sell, but he just left me alone to run it and didn't work towards selling it. I quit after the two years I'd promised and seeing no action on his part.
Afterwards he really ran it down and ran into trouble with the government agency that regulated it. I don't know the amount, but he was forced to sell it for what sounds and seems like not much, at least considering where it had been. But since they shut him down completely, he had no choice.
