That's pretty dependent on home size, location, etc.

When my married kids were looking at possible rentals, they found that for an extra $25-$50 a month they could by a condo that was similar in size to what they would be renting. But they get to be building equity as real estate prices continue to climb. It's pretty crazy, honestly.
