I might agree with you if the offensive player was creating the contact - and there have been instances when targeting/spearing is called when the offensive player IS creating the contact.
But in this instance - the offensive player is diving forward into a space occupied by no one. He didn't create any contact. Certainly not any contact to the head/neck.
Sorenson is the one who was diving headfirst into a person's head. He was creating the contact. So the penalty really is his.
And that's coming from someone who was cheering for the Chiefs and wants them to win the next two games too! But I just see all headfirst dives as not being equal.
