O is trying to advance the ball; D is trying to stop Os advance. If one can dive
Leading with the crown it is given an advantage. Ball carrier leading with their head dramatically increases the probability of head contact. What’s the intent of the rule?
If i”the goal is to reduce head trauma then making ‘leading with the crown’ against the rules for both sides of the ball will do more to reduce head trauma than a targeting or ‘spearing’ rule.
