After Reid got fired and Ruffner was dismissed from the team, Reid had almost nothing left in the cupboard.

Campbell was no Bryan Ruffner (as a player), but he was still pretty solid. We used to call him "The Accountant" back then (I was a student) because he looked like he was 45 with the receding hairline. Rooted hard for those guys and felt so bad for them at the time. So happy to see them beat Utah State, but that was their only win. They played hard, just no experience to speak of.

Rooted hard for Coach Ingle, too. He was in a really bad spot but never gave up on those guys. RIP, Coach.

It was unfortunate that Utah's national ascension began right around this time that our program completely tanked. It was a tough 5-6 years to swallow until Cleve righted the ship several years late and the Yewts finally came back to earth towards the end of the Majerus era.
