Children.

I’d guess most master suite tubs rarely get used as the kids are bathed in another bathroom.

We would use larger tile (12x24 at least) & maybe a drop in tub w/ platform (easier for short old people to get in).

Without a wall between the shower & tub, both areas can share floor space and be bigger than it they are separate.
