I'm not sure it's altering genetics for ungulates like elk. Monster bulls like
these have the same genetics as elk today, they just had the chance to live past 4 years old. Farmed elk will get this big nowadays, but it's exceedingly rare for it to happen in the wild.
Can you elaborate on the pheasant grouse issues? I'm not an upland game or waterfowl hunter so that's stuff is all foreign to me.
