I snow plow for a lot of rich second home owners, some of which have heated driveways. Even they don't run their heated driveways because of the cost, they'd rather pay me (or someone else) to plow.
Your garage on the other hand would be super nice to have to keep your garage at 35-40 degrees in the winter, with a warm floor. As long as it's well insulated. Then if you need it warmer for something, just kick the heat up the night before.
I'm building a 5000 sq. Ft. Shop with radiant heat in the floor. I briefly considered adding a zone to the concrete sidewalk around the building, but figured I'd be way better off just shoveling/plowing it.
